Filming from a smartphone is different than filming from a regular, dedicated camcorder. You have to keep in mind all the normal filming matters outlined in my Male Feet Video Director's Guide series, plus a few others. I've seen a lot of male feet videos that could have been much, much just by keeping in mind a few differences between filming from a camcorder.
Orientation: A lot of smartphone male feet videos that I watch are filmed with the smartphone held vertically - in the same way that you look at or talk into a phone. But if you're filming, smartphones were designed to be held horizontally, so that if you do transfer the video to a tv or a monitor, most of the viewing area is filled up. If the orientation is wrong, you'll see two huge black lines to the left and right of the tiny visible area of the video. This should be avoided and it's simple to do so, just rotate the phone 90 degrees clockwise so that you're holding it horizontally when filming!
Stability: Smartphones are very portable and the most interesting male feet videos have a lot of movement. Moving the phone too much can cause you to end up with jerky footage. This can be avoided by focusing on keeping the camera still and making slow, smooth movements when changing positions. Some jerking is inevitable - especially with male feet pedal pumping videos. But you can do your part to minimize it! You can change positions quickly, but the video will be better if you either take it slow, or edit out the transition.
Scene: With so many video cameras around, we can film so many male feet we see in our lives! That begs the question...what should we film? I've seen a great many "candid feet" videos, normally very short ones. I suppose they can be ok, but in most cases, seeing a nice candid bare male foot picture works out better than a video. Videos work great if there is a good scene - foot licking, pedal pumping, stomping, etc. A scene where you can capture the atmosphere, the ambience and where the action is hot! A "bare foot standing in line at the checkout" video is interesting, but not really very exciting. Even for the most attractive male feet around! So if you see a nice male bare foot and want to capture it, consider taking a picture. Or if you do take a video, share the best pictures you can extract from it!
